(ii) In the "Announcement Information" field, click "Edit".

(iii) Set "Collect Transfer Fee" to "Yes"/"No" to determine whether the fee is charged.

6.1C Q: How do I add or modify a handling fee for a corporate action?

A: Perform the following steps.

(i) On the "Corporate Actions > Fee Management" page, click "Create/Edit".

(ii) Complete the required fields marked with an asterisk

  • Rate (not percentage): You may enter a fixed rate or charge as a percentage; for example, 0.25% = 0.0025.

  • Charge Priority: Set the priority order for applying charges; typically enter 1.

  • Rounding Method:

    • "Round Down" — round down, e.g., 6.9 → 6.0
    • "Round Up" — round up, e.g., 5.4 → 6.0
  • Special Fee Constraints:

    • "No Limit" — the configured fee is charged regardless of the distributed amount.
    • "Individual Fee Not Exceeding Distributed Amount" — the charged fee will not exceed the distributed amount. Example: if the fee is $10 and the distributed interest is $5, only $5 will be charged; the fee will not exceed the distributed amount.

6.1D Q: How do I modify the charge for a corporate action for a single occurrence only?

A: Edit it within "Fee Rules" by clicking "Edit".

6.1E Q: For Hong Kong stocks distributing dividends in US dollars, how are handling fees calculated?

A: Handling fees follow the currency of the distribution. CCASS fees are charged in US dollars, so the system will collect those fees in US dollars; the transfer fee is charged by the Hong Kong transfer office and is billed in Hong Kong dollars by default.

6.1F Q: How can I export a report of fees charged to clients for corporate actions?

A: You can export this from the "Customer Details" section of Corporate Actions.
